A lot of celebs “go public” with their relationships as the tabloids have coined it. This happens when any person of public status leaves the house with a member of the opposite sex and they walk, eat or smile while in each other’s company. We wonder how this affects the stars and their relationships? Remember back when Angie and Brad had just started taping "Mr. & Mrs. Smith?" Rumors flew of flirtations and chemistry on set.  "Poor Jen," made its first headline. Everywhere they went the cameras followed waiting for them to do anything romantic in nature. They maintained they were "just friends." Then they had some really crazy loud animal sex in Kenya, so loud in fact that Star Magazine said security had to be called. Look at them today. With nearly a dozen children and houses on every nearly every latitude line, Angie and Brad are an extraordinary couple. It all started with a little speculation. Did the media perhaps push them along?

Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong were all over each other at the Cannes Film Festival then a nanosecond later, all over the Internet and weekly gossip rags. Also at Cannes were Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson doing some hand holding and smooching. According to the tabloids this means they have “gone public.” Britney Spears shares all of one week cozying up in Costa Rica (with half her family and personal assistant present, we might ad) to her agent, Jason Trawick and he is instantly referred to as her new boyfriend. It’s fun to speculate about whom the shiny famous people are dating because the rest of us are sad, lonely and certainly can’t afford Cannes or Costa Rica.

Maybe it’s the little Jewish Mother from within, but we’re worried. Could it be potentially hurtful to these brewing relationships to have them splattered across the pages and analyzed by the week? Then we scratched our heads some more and thought maybe it does the opposite. Perhaps, the Press moves a relationship along because obviously famous people are vain and enjoy seeing their dates displayed on newsstands. We’d love it, but then again we are REALLY vain.  Furthermore, it kind of takes pressure off how long one should wait to call!
